We refer to them often while we travel or have used them in schools and in our daily lives for information, but what exactly is a map?

A map is a visual representation of an entire area or a part of an area, typically represented on a flat surface. The work of a map is to illustrate specific and detailed features of a particular area, most frequently used to illustrate geography. There are many kinds of maps; static, two-dimensional, three-dimensional, dynamic and even interactive. Maps attempt to represent various things, like political boundaries, physical features, roads, topography, population, climates, natural resources and economic activities.

India, the seventh largest country in the world, is known for its rich heritage and diverse culture. It is the most populous democracy in the whole world and surrounded by three water bodies: The Indian Ocean, The Arabian Sea and The Bay of Bengal. The country has 29 states, 6 Union Territories and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The capital city of New Delhi in the north is marked in red. It is bordered by the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. India has plenty of tourist attractions to offer, both for its own citizens as well as for people around the world.

Taj Mahal isn't the only place to visit. The country has much more to offer, ranging from its history, festivals, people, and countless breathtaking places.
